Lido's wstETH Now on Lisk

in Multichain by Lido

The Lido protocol's wstETH is now available on Lisk, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain focused on empowering Web3 builders with real-world use cases in emerging markets.

Leveraging the Optimism’s OP Stack and Gelato's Rollup-as-a-Service, Lisk delivers significant improvements in transaction speed and cost efficiency while maintaining Ethereum's security foundation.

What is Lisk?

Lisk is an EVM-compatible Layer 2 rollup built using Optimism's OP Stack. Originally a Layer 1 blockchain, Lisk made the transition to become an Ethereum Layer 2 solution in partnership with Gelato as a Rollup-as-a-Service provider.

Lisk is a purpose-built network focused on powering real-world blockchain applications. With a mission to provide Web3 builders with the most attractive ecosystem for developing solutions in high-growth markets, Lisk has established strategic partnerships across Africa and Southeast Asia. The network has deepened relationships in these regions through incubation programs that provide developer platforms, mentorship, and grant funding to Web3 startups.

Bridging to Lisk

The Superbridge.app provides a popular bridge UI for OP Stack Chains to transfer wstETH between Ethereum and Lisk. Before using Superbridge ensure your wallet contains wstETH (wrapped stETH), then follow these steps:

  1. Access Superbridge: Navigate to Superbridge.app.
  2. Connect Your Wallet: Link your Ethereum wallet to the bridge UI and verify that you have enough ETH to cover gas fees.
  3. Select Your Networks: Choose Ethereum as the source chain and Lisk as the destination chain.
  4. Select Your Token: Choose wstETH from the list of available tokens in the dropdown menu, and choose the amount you wish to transfer to Lisk.
  5. Approve and Confirm: Review the transaction details, approve the interaction, and confirm the transfer in your wallet.

The bridging process typically takes only a few minutes to complete. You can track your transaction status on both Etherscan and Lisk Explorer.

Bridging back from Lisk to Ethereum may take up to 7 days. This delay is a standard security feature of the OP Stack, serving as a challenge period before the transaction is finalized.
